Reverta®
What we should know about the prostate?
The prostate is an crucial part of the male genitourinary system and is a chestnut-shaped gland that produces a special secretion involved in the composition of seminal fluid. Located at the base of the bladder, the urinary canal passes through it. That’s why its shape and volume are critical for the urination process.
As the prostate ages, it undergoes significant changes. In children, it is a small organ primarily composed of muscle tissue that gradually grows to a volume of 20-30 ml by the time a man reaches twenty years of age, when growth of prostate typically ceases. However, after age of fifty, some men may experience renewed growth in a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH is a benign enlargement of prostate tissue that alters its normal volume. As it grows, nodules may form in the prostate, changing its shape. Due to its location, this enlargement can compress and narrow the urinary canal, leading to urination difficulties. The exact causes of BPH are not fully understood, but chronic inflammation and hormonal imbalances are believed to be contributing factors. Symptoms of BPH may include difficulty urinating, a weak stream, a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying, increased nighttime urination, and sudden urges to urinate, sometimes accompanied by involuntary leakage. As BPH progresses, the quality of life for affected men can decline significantly, making prostate health critical.
The active ingredients in Reverta® work synergistically to maintain prostate volume within normal physiological limits and positively influence the health and functioning of the male genitourinary system.
IngredientsGraminex G63 Standardized Pollen Extract
This extract helps maintain enzyme and arachidonic acid levels within normal physiological ranges and has a positive impact on prostate volume and function.
Together, Graminex and Pygeum extracts support normal prostate and bladder smooth muscle tone. According to a series of scientific observations, rye pollen extract may be beneficial for maintaining healthy prostate function and overall quality of life for men. Additionally, Graminex has shown beneficial effects on normal prostate cell regeneration.
Standardized extract of Urtica dioica
This extract helps maintain the natural hormonal balance in prostate tissue, creating favorable conditions for keeping prostate size within physiological limits. It also positively affects libido, erectile function, and overall sexual health.
Standardized Saw palmetto extract
Serenoa repens or Saw palmetto, was first listed in the U.S. Pharmacopoeia in 1906 and in the National Formulary in 1926. It is among the most studied herbal products for prostate health.
Numerous modern studies and meta-analyses have evaluated the positive effects of Serenoa repens, revealing more about its beneficial impact on normal prostate and urinary tract function than ever before. This extract contains a variety of fatty acids and sterols that support healthy prostate gland structure and urinary function. Other studies indicate that Serenoa repens may also help maintain normal testosterone levels.
Standardized extract of Pygeum africanum
This extract helps maintain the natural elasticity of the prostate and preserves the physiological tone of its smooth muscles.
Lycopene
Tomato extract possesses powerful antioxidant properties and regulates growth factors in the prostate, contributing to its health.
According to many researchers, lycopene helps maintain the balance of free radicals in the body. With age, prostate cells produce free radicals, so it’s crucial to control oxidative stress in order to maintain a healthy prostate. Lycopene substantially supports prostate health by ensuring normal cell function during the aging process. Its beneficial effects on other systems and parts of the human body – such as the brain, bones, and vision – continue to be extensively studied.
Zinc
Zinc is the most abundant trace element in biological systems and posses several vital functions. It serves as a structural component in enzyme systems related to gene expression, cell function and division, and DNA synthesis.
Maintaining balanced zinc levels is important for supporting immune cell function and achieving a balance between immune tolerance and immune protection.
The significance of zinc in prostate health has garnered ongoing scientific interest. Studies indicate that zinc is primarily concentrated in the bones and prostate gland, making it essential for supporting healthy prostate function by maintaining normal levels of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. Several experimental studies suggest that zinc may also help preserve the integrity of prostate cells through various mechanisms.
Selenium
Selenium is a key structural element of antioxidant enzymes in the prostate that neutralize free radicals, thus promoting prostate health. It also plays a crucial role in the sperm life cycle and is essential for maintaining normal male fertility and libido.
Additionally, selenium is vital for normal immune system function. In the 20th century, its beneficial effects on prostate health were extensively studied. American biochemist Tresa Stadtman identified the biological importance of selenium in synthesizing the redox enzyme glycine reductase. Further research revealed that selenium is found in proteins called selenoproteins, as part of the amino acid selenocysteine. Selenocysteine is also a structural component of glutathione peroxidase, an important redox enzyme with strong antioxidant properties. These findings affirm the beneficial effects of selenium on prostate cells facing oxidative stress associated with aging.
