What should you know about the flu and acute viral infections?
Influenza is a viral disease affecting the respiratory tract. There are three types of influenza viruses: A, B, and C, all of which cause acute infections of the throat, nose, bronchi, and lungs.
Acute viral infections (AVIs) are caused by over 200 different viruses that primarily affect the respiratory system. These infections generally lead to milder symptoms than influenza.

Both influenza and AVIs are highly contagious and can easily spread through sneezing, coughing, or contact with contaminated hands and objects used by infected individuals.
During the colder months, the body becomes more susceptible to these infections. If not treated promptly, the flu and AVIs can lead to serious complications such as pneumonia, meningitis, and others.
Those most susceptible to contracting influenza and AVIs are children, adults over 65, pregnant women, people with weakened immune systems, and those suffering from chronic diseases.
Antibiotics are ineffective against viral infections like influenza and AVIs. Vaccines also provide only partial protection, as viruses can rapidly mutate and become unpredictable.
The most commonly used medications to treat viral infections and influenza are so-called symptomatic treatments, which affect the symptoms themselves but have no effect on the causative agent of the disease. These include antipiretics, painkillers, different NSAIDs, cough suppressants, antihistamines, and sore throat remedies.

Humic acid
Humic acid is an organic compound obtained in the process of humification – the physical, chemical, and microbiological transformation of decaying plants. Derived from natural compounds found in soil, humic acid is characterized with a loose assembly of aromatic polymers, with varying molecular weights, structural properties, and reactivity.
Herbalists in Rome and China have used humic acid for thousands of years; the scientific research of its benefits began in Europe in the 18th century. This complex structure possesses chelating properties – the ability to bind heavy metals and toxins.
Andrographolides
Andrographis paniculata is a herb traditionally used in China, India, and Southeast Asia. Androgrpahis paniculata (also called “Indian echinacea” or “king of bitters”) has been used for thousands of years in China and Thailand, and has recently become increasingly popular in both the United States and Scandinavia. More than 30 substances, such as andrographolides, flavonoids, and flavonoid glycosides (including diterpenoids), can be extracted from the stems and leaves of Andrographis.
Multiple clinical studies confirm that andrographolides are both safe and effective in helping to maintain the body’s optimal condition, especially during seasonal illnesses like colds and flu.
Proprietary Spirulina Extract
Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is a blue-green algae that supports the immune system.
