Cystostop SR

WHAT IS CYSTOSTOP SR?

CYSTOSTOP SR is an improved formulation with prolonged release of the active ingredients and easier intake, which provides fast and permanent relief of the symptoms of cystitis. It contains the exact doses of the active substances indicated.

The CYSTOSTOP SR tablets are manufactured using an innovative technology enabling a prolonged gradual release of the substances. This ensures a steady supply of adequate concentrations of the active substances to the body, improving drug efficacy and facilitating intake.

COMPOSITION

Each CYSTOSTOP SR tablet contains:

  • D-Mannose  500 mg
  • BetaVac™ – 50 mg (a protected combination of standardized dry extract from American cranberry – Vaccinum macrocarpon – and standardized dry extract from birch leaves – Betulla spp., which contain proanthocyanidins types A and B, 3,5,7,3’,4'-Pentahydroxyflavone; 3,7,3’,4’-Tetrahydroxyflavone and epicatechin (4β->6) – epicatechin (4β->8, 2β->O->7) – epicatechin).

HOW DOES CYSTOSTOP SR WORK AND FOR WHOM IS IT INTENDED?

The effect of CYSTOSTOP SR is fast and can be felt as early as the first hours after product intake.

CYSTOSTOP SR prevents the bacteria causing discomfort from attaching themselves to the walls of the urinary tract. They thus remain in the urine and are flushed from the body with urine. CYSTOSTOP SR also acts on the bacteria already attached to urinary tract walls, easing their separation from them and discharge from the body.

CYSTOSTOP SR has the highest efficacy in the earliest stage of the infection as soon as symptoms such as burning sensation, frequent and painful urination, groin pain, cloudy urine and other appear.  When discomfort is caused by E. coli (85% to 90% of the cases), the effect is almost instantaneous and brings relief in as little as a few hours after drug intake. In most cases, the ailments disappear as early as the next day.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF CYSTOSTOP SR?

There are no known side effects of the product or contraindications to its use. Being very well tolerated, it can be taken over an extended period of time. It is also suitable for children over 6 years of age. The dose should be determined by the treating physician depending on the child’s weight. There are no contraindications to the use of CYSTOSTOP SR. When taken in the recommended dose, CYSTOSTOP SR does not interact with drugs and food.

HOW TO TAKE CYSTOSTOP SR?

Take CYSTOSTOP SR as early as the first symptoms of urinary discomfort occur.
CYSTOSTOP SR must be taken at least 1 hour before or after a meal.

DOSING REGIMEN

5 consecutive days – 2 tablets x3 times a day

After the fifth day, CYSTOSTOP SR must be taken in a dosage of 1 tablet 2 times a day for 30 to 90 days, depending on infection severity.

CYSTOSTOP SR tablets must be taken as one piece with a glass of water. Do not break or chew.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

There are macromolecules on the surface of the urinary tract ending in D-mannose attached to them. The bacterium E. coli is the most common cause of urinary tract discomfort. It has fingerlike projections called fimbriae, which it uses to adhere to the D-mannose of these macromolecules, which is how the bacteria succeed in attaching to and infecting the urinary tract.

When D-mannose is present in urine, E. coli bacteria primarily attach themselves to D-mannose molecules instead of the macromolecules on the surface of the urinary tract, forming a complex, which is easily discharged from the bladder with urine.

When D-mannose is present in urine, E. coli bacteria primarily attach themselves to D-mannose molecules instead of the macromolecules on the surface of the urinary tract, forming a complex, which is easily discharged from the bladder with urine.

Studies show that up to 90 % of urinary tract infections are caused by E. coli, making the intake of D-mannose highly efficacious.

While antibiotic treatment also destroys the beneficial bacteria in the body, triggering mycotic infections or gastrointestinal inflammation, D-mannose selectively removes only ‘bad’ bacteria by means of attachment, which renders them harmless.

The proanthocyanidins from the American cranberry fruit extract block another type of fimbriae, which the bacteria use to attack mostly the kidney.

Together, D-mannose and proanthocyanidins block more than 95% of bacterial fimbriae.

Hence the combination of D-mannose and proanthocyanidins provide far more reliable and better protection of the urinary tract rather than taken as separate medicines.

CYSTOSTOP SR boosts and enhances the effect of the antibiotic prescribed.

The biologically active ingredients of CYSTOSTOP SR (D-mannose, proanthocyanidins and flavonoids) effectively block all fimbriae, which bacteria use to attach themselves to the walls of excretory organs, speeding up their discharge from the body with urine.
